Agulhas is shaped by decades of hands-on experience. Our sister company, INDEPENDENT Land Rovers, has serviced only Land Rovers for nearly 20 years. We have spent tens of thousands of hours learning what makes these trucks tick.
That practical knowledge informs every decision we make. How a chassis should feel. How a panel should sit. When to restore exactly as original, and when to refine just enough to honor the truck's intent.

What is Agulhas
From the Southernmost point of Africa is where our inspiration arises.
Agulhas is not just a brand, but a lifestyle. Our approach is more than just a perfect restoration, we are dedicated to providing a vehicle that is an extension of ones personality, that fits like a glove into daily life while staying true to its core.
Agulhas is named after Cape Agulhas in South Africa. Being the southernmost tip of the African continent it is also where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. This region has so many fantastic contrasts. Beautiful sandy beaches with crystal blue water along with a coastline that is jagged and treacherous. The area was named Agulhas which is Portuguese for "needles". This was given by the Portuguese explorers after the jagged rocks that look like needles and which have sunk many ships. It is also said to depict the "needle" of a compass that points exactly to magnetic north in this area.
Our aim is to share with you the Land Rover lifestyle in all forms. The beauty of our world and what inspires us to build the vehicles we build. The people and places we meet and see along the way, and most importantly to learn how to enjoy every journey.
After all, Land Rover has always taught us; One life, live it.
“Some of my earliest memories are of family trips to the beaches in South Africa. Here I spent hours watching old Land Rovers pulling fishing boats in and out of the ocean. Rusty and faded, they were not things of beauty but fantastic, invincible workhorses. This admiration and passion continued and over the past three decades I have owned and operated two Independent Land Rover repair shops, worked at various Land Rover dealerships, attended countless customer events and have had the opportunity to drive and test these vehicles over all types of terrain and in all conditions.
Being so immersed in the Land Rover brand and its lifestyle has not only given me the unique advantage of being able to share a mutual passion with my customers and team, but I gained a clear understanding of what's required to build a Land Rover with unmatched abilities, comfort, dependability and durability. My vision has been to build these from the ground up, uncompromising in quality and attention to detail. A Land Rover that would be unmistakably in touch with its heritage but modern in performance, reliability and refinement.”
