Building your Agulhas Defender

A Shared Journey in Craftsmanship

At Agulhas, building a Defender is a collaboration. We start with Land Rover’s timeless design and work with you to shape a vehicle that reflects both its heritage and your purpose. Our process is deliberate and rooted in quality, with every decision guided with long-term ownership in mind.

Consultation & Intent

Your first conversation with us defines the build. We listen to how you intend to use your Defender, the environments you care about, and the details that matter most. Whether it will serve as a reliable daily driver, a trusted adventure companion, or something in between, we help translate your intentions into choices.

Materials & Design That Age Well

We offer a curated palette of exterior finishes inspired by Land Rover heritage, alongside colors drawn from the landscapes that influence our work. Inside, leather and textiles are selected for their tactile quality and enduring appeal. Every material is chosen to complement the vehicle’s character and strength.

A Thoughtful, Methodical Build

Whether you bring your own Defender or choose one through Agulhas, the body is fully stripped and rebuilt with precision. Panels are repaired or replaced, corrosion protection is applied throughout, and modern hardware is used for durability. Structural systems are restored so they perform reliably for years.

Heritage You Can Rely On

Our approach combines decades of hands-on experience with a deep respect for Land Rover’s original engineering. The result is a Defender that feels authentic, works intuitively, and rewards ownership over time.

Start Your Build

Building an Agulhas Defender is a process of shared refinement that begins with conversation and ends in a vehicle that stands the test of time.

  • Sound and heat insulation applied where it meaningfully improves comfort without dulling character

  • Stainless steel and grade-8 hardware used throughout for strength and corrosion resistance

  • Stainless hard lines and braided lines fitted for braking, fuel, and critical systems

  • Engine, transmission, transfer case, axles, and driveline components fully disassembled and rebuilt using new or better-than-new parts

  • Electrical systems fully restored or replaced, with components reconditioned or renewed where available
